These are some photos I shot and saturated. I took the photos on the way to Lubbock, highway 82, and on the way back to Wichita Falls. I like the title of the series I am going to use for the paintings – “Nature Saturated.” I am going to work in oil as usual. I am also going to work big, as usual. I can’t help it – I feel like I am suffocating when I paint on a small canvas. I’ll post the sizes as I work. I am realizing how much I like to push the color in my paintings. I friend of mine, Elizabeth (a fellow photographer), has taught me to slow down even more and really look at the wildflowers and native plants of Texas. Guess this all kinda goes together – we do everything big and bright in Texas. I can’t wait to get started. I’ll be sending these off to be printed at FullColor so I can observe the photographs even better. I do not like using my iPad while I paint. I want the real photograph. I’ll have them printed to 11×14′s, then I’ll start painting. These paintings will wake you up in the morning!
