This is a longhorn cow – oil, 30×40. I am working from a photograph I took of one of Bob Hillary’s longhorns. This will be in my show in late July in Lubbock. I love the background – kinda modern then the cow will be very realistic. Gotta outline in ceruleum blue just to throw in a zing. She will have blue in her also. The Post-Impressionists did a lot of outlining in their work. They were influenced by the Japanese woodblock prints. I enjoy using techniques in that artists in the past used. It’s like honoring the artists.
