This class is in the afternoon on Wednesdays. These young artists come dragging into the studio after tennis, swimming and etc, but after a few minutes of being in the studio they come to life:) We got started right away working on their individual projects. Bennett is working on a palette knife painting for his grandmother. He is painting from a photo of some of her land. Bennett has become pro at palette knife painting. Seriously! Alexis and Libby worked on their pastel abstracts. The girls had so much fun with these abstracts. They turned out really cool. We welcomed Olivia back after an long absence. She had volleyball and her schedule was a little bit too crazy. Anyway, it was good to see her back. Olivia and Kate worked on the illuminated manuscript project. We reviewed the history of illuminated manuscripts. I even showed them some pics I took of the manuscripts at the Getty Museum in Los Angeles. Way cool. These artists are so much fun to teach. I am blessed to have a studio where all my students want to be taking art, plus they are talented:) Enjoy the pics.
